Bus timetables can also be obtained from local bus enquiry offices and tourist information centres in Macclesfield, Congleton and Buxton. There are railway stations in nearby Macclesfield Town and further away in Buxton to the east of the forest.
Road Links & Car Parks
The entrance to the Visitors Centre and main car park can be found signposted from Buxton Old Road which is just off the A537 road between Macclesfield and Buxton.
Car parking is available at the Visitors Centre with visits over 30 minutes subject to pay and display charges. Parking is free for Blue badge holders and parking permits are available.

Up to date information about Tegg’s Nose Country Park and current events can be obtained from the Visitors Centre and from Cheshire County Council by sending an email to: rangers@cheshireeast.gov.uk. There are also information boards and a weather station on the side of the Visitors Centre.

There are a number of pubs in the area serving food and drink, including the Leather’s Smithy at Macclesfield Forest, and the St Dunstan Inn, (no food) in nearby Langley Village.
There is also a Visitors Centre and facilities including additional car parking and toilets at nearby Macclesfield Forest, close to Trentabank Reservoir.
